A Neurophysiology EEG (Electroencephalography) Technicians are specialized healthcare professionals who play a crucial role in diagnosing and monitoring neurological disorders. They prepare patients for EEG tests, operate and maintain EEG equipment, and record brain wave activity. Their expertise ensures accurate data collection, which is essential for the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as epilepsy, sleep disorders, and other neurological issues. They work closely with neurologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret EEG results and provide comprehensive patient care 


Requirements

Theoretical, practical, and procedural knowledge of the following :

1.Patient Preparation: Explain the EEG procedure to patients and address their concerns, gather history, and ensure patient comfort.
2.Work with patients diagnosed with epilepsy
3.Electrode Placement: Apply electrodes accurately following standardized protocols.
4. EEG Recording: Operate and calibrate EEG equipment, record brain activity, and monitor patients.
5.Data Collection and Analysis: Record data, identify abnormalities, perform additional tests, and document findings.
6.Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot EEG equipment.
7.Collaboration and Communication: Work with healthcare professionals, interpret results, and provide detailed reports.
8.Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and comply with policies.
9.Continuing Education: Stay updated with advancements, participate in training, and maintain certifications.
10.Quality Assurance: Adhere to standards, participate in quality improvement, and follow best practices.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a related field, with an accredited ECG Technician Training Program Certificate. Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of specialized, supervised experience in Cardiovascular Technology, with a focus on Electrocardiogram (ECG) procedures. Experience must be gained in a Healthcare facility equipped with the necessary resources, equipment, and tasks relevant to the profession.
